Pry

I really enjoy taking a break from painting realism and doing something abstract. My heart lies in my abstract drawings and paintings. I want to eventually do them in etchings.

Green Apple

After looking at a variety of daily painters blogs it became apparent that you must do 'the apple' in order to officially join the ranks. I may also have to do an orange, a pepper and some sort of sweet.

This is my first attempt at painting my son's picture. I plan on painting his picture at least once a month for the practice.

Daddy

Not For Sale
This is my first attempt at painting my husband. I photographed him while he was sleeping in the sun. The rays of sunshine create a very dramatic affect.

Crock

I am back to painting again. This is a bean crock that my mother has used many times over the years. It brings back fond memories of watching her cooking. I like the earth tone colors of the pot.

Flicker

When I do images that are divided I see them as the pattern of a thought. Your thoughts can be very random and disjointed but to the person thinking them they can see the relationship.

Mind

Another fine example of how I like to play with negative space and make the negative space the focus of attention rather than the actual object being portrayed.

Bona

I enjoy photographing my son. The way the light fell on him is very flattering. Even though the black and white pictures do not capture his brilliant red hair they are able to show his personality better.

Twinkle

Rays of light or shards of glass all offer a distorted sense of what we are looking at. This reminds me of a bullet hole in a glass window.

Espy

This is hot off the presses. The last few days I have been really into this earth tone ink. I find the medium also plays a big part in dictating what will be created.

Blink

I was inspired to take up my brush and use ink. I like to play around with the tonal range of the ink. I like the warmth of the earth tone and the circular shape represents life.

Self Portrait

I had originally posted this without any comments. This is an older piece so I am at a lose for words. The older the piece becomes the more detached I become. It often feels as if I am looking at another artist's work.
